I never, in my wildest dreams, thought I would be at Commercial Service or be in the contracting industry. But once I got here, I had never worked anywhere where employees cared so much about the company and about the customers. That really hit home, and I knew I had made the right decision.
My name is Scott Rink and I’m president of Commercial Service and I’ve been at Commercial Service for just of 15 years. My wife and I have been married for 19 years. I have four children, oldest three are daughters: 16, 15, and 12, and I have one son who is 8.
I moved to Bloomington when I was six and left to go to college and immediately came back to Bloomington, so Bloomington is home for myself and my family.
Every day is different, and that’s part of what’s exciting about Commercial Service and our industry. I believe we provide better service and quality of work and that’s because of our employees. I would much rather make a decision that’s best for the customer than one that’s best for Commercial Service, so I’m proud of that and I think all our employees are proud of that.
I mean we’re nothing without our customers. We’re very fortunate: we’ve been around since 1946 and we’ve had customers that have been around since 1946. We’re invested in the community, we care about the community, and if the community succeeds, then I believe Commercial Service and our family of employees will succeed.
Making the Best Decisions for our Customers
As the CEO and President of Commercial Service, Scott Rink genuinely considers the team as the key to its success. He knows that with team dedication and the support of their customers, Commercial Service can continue to provide quality service to central Indiana.
“I never, in my wildest dreams, thought I would be at Commercial Service or be in the contracting industry. But, once I got here, I had never worked anywhere where employees cared so much about the company and about the customers. That really hit home, and I knew I had made the right decision,” he explains.
For over 15 years, Scott has served at Commercial Service. He and his wife, Allison, have been married for 19 years, and together, they have four children.
In response to why he considers Commercial Service different from other companies, Scott says, “I believe we provide better service and quality of work and that’s because of our employees. I would much rather make a decision that’s best for the customer than one that’s best for Commercial Service. So I’m proud of that and I think all our employees are proud of that.”
As a Bloomington local, he strives to support his fellow Hoosiers. “We’re invested in the community. We care about the community. And, if the community succeeds, then I believe Commercial Service and our family of employees will succeed,” he says.
